Thrive Life Food Hack: “Cauli-flour”

Cauliflower is a pretty awesome vegetable. Freeze dried cauliflower is even more awesome, because you can do some unique and fun things with it.

Today, I’m going to show you something I came up with while experimenting with my Thrive Life cauliflower. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has done this, because it’s super simple. All you do is blend up your freeze-dried cauliflower. Boom. Done.


I will admit that it takes a lot of cauliflower to make a little cauli-flour, so just know that in advance. This “cauli-flour” is a fun alternative for thickeners, especially if you have issues with regular thickeners like flour or corn starch. It’s also fun to throw this in to mashed potatoes, to give it a nice texture and add another vegetable. That’s my favorite way to use it at the moment. “Cauli-flour” is also great to “hide” from picky-eaters in a rice pilaf, a pasta sauce, or even mac and cheese.

If you’re looking for a “riced” cauliflower, just add water to this until your desired consistently is reached. Taking a few seconds to blend your cauliflower and then add water is much easier than the traditional technique for making cauliflower rice. Once you’ve blended it and added water, you can use it in pizza crust or fried rice or whatever you’d like. It may take a bit of experimentation, but it’s totally fun and worth a shot.
